Review Policy

Thanks for checking out my review policy!

I am currently open to accepting review requests! Please read through my review policy before contacting me with a review request.

While I appreciate self-published books, I will not be accepting review requests for self-published books at this time.

I prefer print copies of books, but will sometimes accept PDF files for an e-book. Print copies are easier for me to read through, and will receive priority, especially because I have a hard time reading on my computer, and PDF files sent to my Kindle aren’t always the optimal reading quality!

Genres That I Like

Adult fiction
Literary Fiction
Dystopian
Historical Fiction
Mystery (very selective with this one!)
YA (picky about this one too!)

Genres I Don’t Like

Non-fiction
Biographies
Memoirs
Graphic Novels
Anything paranormal/supernatural (no zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc.!)
Romance
Horror/Thrillers

By accepting your book, I am not guaranteeing that I will read and review it, and this may be due to any number of things. I reserve the right not to post a review of a book that I have nothing to say about, don’t feel comfortable reviewing, etc.

If I have received an ARC of a book, I will post the review on or around the release date. If the book has already been released, my review will be posted within 2-3 weeks of receiving the book.

I will be honest in my review. If I did not like the book, I won’t sugarcoat it. If you are not okay with a potentially negative review, please do not send me a review request.

Book reviews will be posted on this blog, as well as on Goodreads. I am also open to author interviews and conducting giveaways if I liked the book!

The best way to contact me is through email at earlybirdgetsthebookworm@gmail.com or through the contact form. I will only respond to requests for books that interest me. If I try to answer every email I receive, I’d never get around to actually reading!!

Unless stated otherwise, all books I review on my blog have been borrowed from the library, borrowed from a friend, or bought by me personally. I will state at the beginning of a review whether I have received a book from an author, publisher, etc.
